Over the past week we published four posts on buying Check Point through cAIberOps: the license-only route and its price promise, the six steps before a renewal, how to choose between license only and managed, and the endpoint edition.
The questions that came back were practical ones, so here they are in one place, answered plainly. Two ways to buy from us: Managed Email Security on the year-end offer, or the Check Point license on its own, priced to beat the quote you already have.
1. What are the two ways to buy?
The first is Managed Email Security: the Check Point license and our managed service together, where we run the platform for you. It is for any business that wants email security off its plate, and it is a published price, discounted until the end of the year: $6.40 per user per month on the year-end offer ($5.60 for registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits; $8 list). The offer is 20% off (30% for registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits) on a 12-month Managed Email Security agreement signed by December 31, 2026, new customers only, no onboarding fee. The agreement also includes a one-time SaaS security posture report of your Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace tenant, delivered within the first 90 days at no charge; question 10 says what is in it.
The second is the license on its own, bought through cAIberOps as a Check Point partner. It is for any business that wants a Check Point license to run itself, with its own admin or IT provider, in its own Check Point Portal account. It has no price list. If you are considering a switch, it is priced against the written quote you already hold from any other vendor or reseller, and we beat that quote. Guaranteed, on those terms. The terms are in question 3.
2. Who is each one for?
Managed is for a business that wants email security off its plate: your staff do not have time in the week to work a quarantine, and you want a person who answers when something looks wrong. License only is for a business with its own admin or IT provider that will run the product itself: either one that already pays for a dedicated security product, is coming up on a renewal, and wants the same category of protection on Check Point for less, or one that relies on what came with Microsoft 365 and has decided it wants a dedicated layer on top. If you are not sure which you are, the five questions post settles it in about four minutes.
3. What makes a quote qualify for the price beat?
Five things, and they are strict on purpose. The quote is written and dated within the last 30 days. It is issued to your business, for a paid standalone license or subscription. It names the product and the protection tier. It states the number of users, mailboxes or devices. It states the term. With those five on paper we identify the Check Point package that matches your tier, quote it for the same count and the same term, and beat the price. A beat, not a match.
4. What does not qualify?
A list price from a vendor's website, because a list price is not a quote issued to you. A bundle price that folds the security product into other services, because there is no like-for-like line to beat. A quote for a managed service compared against a license alone, or the reverse; we only compare the same shape on both sides. And a verbal number. If what you have is one of these, ask the vendor for the itemized quote first.
5. Does the beat work on a higher tier than the one I have?
Yes, in both directions. If you want to step up to a higher tier at renewal, send that higher-tier quote and we beat it with the matching Check Point package. If your current tier is lower than the Check Point package you have in mind, we beat your quote with the Check Point package that matches your current tier and quote the higher one separately, so the step up is a visible number rather than a hidden one.
6. Which products does it cover?
Check Point products where a comparable competitor product exists. For email, Check Point Email Security against products such as Proofpoint, Mimecast, Barracuda or Abnormal AI. For endpoint, Check Point Endpoint Security, the product formerly called Harmony Endpoint, against products such as CrowdStrike, SentinelOne or Sophos, and on endpoint the beat has two shapes: license against license, or license plus the vendor's own MDR service against license plus Check Point's MDR 360° service. Check Point Workforce AI Security and Quantum firewall subscriptions follow the same rule. If you are not sure whether what you run has a Check Point equivalent, ask; the answer is usually a product name and a tier.
7. Is there a trial before I commit?
Yes, on both routes. For email it is the free two-week email security assessment: Check Point Email Security connected to your Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace by API, no MX change, Monitor only, and during the assessment we quarantine nothing. Your current filter keeps working. At the end we show you what reached your inboxes and, for each example that matters, what we would have done in the same situation, and you keep the report whether or not you buy. For endpoint it is Check Point's own free 30-day trial on a new Check Point Portal account, run on a representative set of your machines.
8. What happens at the switch?
Email: the platform is already connected from the assessment, so the policy moves from Monitor only to Prevent (Inline) when you say so. Retiring the old product is your job or your IT provider's, on the day you choose; we do not touch your MX records.
Endpoint: per Check Point, third-party anti-virus engines are disabled or uninstalled when its client is installed, and running two side by side is not supported; the installer removes some products on its own, and the rest, including CrowdStrike, SentinelOne and Sophos, are a step you or your IT provider schedule. On the license-only route we do not touch your devices. On the managed route the uninstall of the old product is still scheduled on your side; what changes is that we run the console afterwards, and deployment is part of what we scope with you.
9. What do I get with a license bought through you that I would not get from a web form?
Three things. A quote that beats the one you hold, if you hold a qualifying one. A free trial on your own mail or machines before you sign. And, for the term of the license, a monthly check-in: a short written report and the offer of a call, covering what the product's report shows, what Check Point released since last month and whether we think you should turn it on, and a renewal heads-up typically about 30 days out, with the count confirmed. Technical support for the product comes from Check Point under the support plan on your quote; we tell you which plan and who to call before you buy. Think of us as a customer success manager for the product, not an operator.
10. What does the managed price include?
Business-day review of what was held, spam filtering and a clean inbox, allow and block list management, release requests, investigation when it is needed with no cap on the time we spend, a written monthly summary, two-session onboarding, and 24/7 support. No setup fee, no multi-year contract. It also includes a one-time SaaS security posture report, delivered within the first 90 days at no charge: a written review of your Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace tenant covering multi-factor authentication and conditional access, admin and emergency access accounts, external forwarding and external sharing, allow lists, third-party app permissions, and your SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, with what we found and what we recommend. It is a one-time piece of work for customers, not a recurring audit. What the first 90 days look like is its own post. For endpoint, Managed Endpoint Protection on Check Point Endpoint Security starts at $8 per endpoint per month, scoped to the coverage you need.
11. I run a nonprofit. What changes?
On Managed Email Security, the year-end offer is 30% instead of 20% for registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits, which is $5.60 per user per month. That is the only place a nonprofit price exists. The license-only route is priced against your quote, nonprofit or not, and there is no nonprofit price on Managed Endpoint Protection.
12. What do you not do?
We do not sell penetration tests or vulnerability scans. We do not write your policies or certify compliance; the products support the relevant parts of frameworks such as HIPAA, the FTC Safeguards Rule, NIST 800-171 and CMMC, not the whole framework. On the license-only route we do not work your quarantine, tune your policies, triage your alerts or respond to incidents; that is the managed service, or Check Point's MDR 360° on endpoint. And we do not publish a license-only price list, because the right number depends on the product, the tier, the count and the term.
How to start
Send the quote you have, or tell us which route you are leaning toward and how many users or devices. We come back with the trial date and, depending on the route, the Check Point package that matches and the price against your quote, or the managed agreement at the offer price, usually within two business days. We work with small and medium businesses and nonprofits nationwide, including Washington DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland. To start, book a free 15-minute call, or see the services page.
